Guatemalan police detain leader of notorious 18th street gang
Guatemalan law enforcement have detained a leader of the 18th Street Gang (Barrio 18), a major transnational criminal organization.
Danis Randolfo De Leon, aka ‘Saiger’, 27, leader of Barrio 18, was captured during an operation in zone 12 of Villa Nueva in Guatemala, according to national police.

The operation resulted in a total of 116 arrests, 67 of the detained are women, according to police. The 18th Street Gang started as a street gang in Los Angeles, California, later developing into one of the most violent criminal organizations in Central America.
