Azerbaijan bans import of poultry products from Russia
Azerbaijan has temporarily banned imports of poultry and poultry products from Russia due to the fact that a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (H5) Virus was recorded in two points in Yashaltinski district of Republic of Kalmykia and Kharabalinski district of Astrakhan province, according to the World Organization for Animal Health.
In connection with this, import of poultry and poultry products to Azerbaijan from Republic of Kalmykia, Astrakhan province, and Dagestan, Volgograd, Rostov, Stavropol provinces and Cherkessk region, which are located near the risky zone, were banned upon the order of the State Veterinary Control Service.

In order to import other products which are controlled by the State Veterinary Control Service, the certificate of Russian State Veterinary Service on epizootic condition of the area from where the products are exported and health of products is required.

The State Veterinary Control Service recommends population to store the poultry in the closed condition.
