Azerbaijan to establish Food Safety Commission

Azerbaijan to establish Food Safety Commission

Azerbaijan will consider establishment of Food Safety Commission in order to ensure effectiveness in conduction of coordination, monitoring, assessment, development and implementation of the programmes and projects, determination of quick measures in emergency situations and etc. in food security sphere, says Strategic Road Map on production and processing of agricultural products in Azerbaijan.

The members of the Commission may be representatives of Ministries of Agriculture, Economy, Emergency Situations and State Statistical Committee and other state bodies.

The members will hold a meeting once a quarter, discuss domestic and international changes on food safety and take preventive measures. The Commission is firstly to draw up Action Plan on measures provided in this Strategic Road Map regarding food safety.
