Azerbaijani, Georgian, Turkish defense ministers plan to meet soon
The fifth trilateral meeting of Azerbaijani, Georgian and Turkish defense ministers is expected to take place in the near future, said Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria.
The Georgian minister, who is on an official visit to Baku, made the remarks during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on Friday.

Izoria said he had a very interesting and useful meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The Georgian minister noted that the strategic partnership and friendship between the two countries are of great importance for the stability in the region.

Georgia and Azerbaijan also enjoy good relations in the field of defense, he added.

Mammadyarov, in turn, underlined the development of high-level friendly ties and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The Azerbaijani FM said the two countries share similar position on regional issues.

Moreover, the sides stressed the need for strict compliance with the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of the internationally recognized borders.

Azerbaijan and Georgia support each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, the ministers said, adding that the conflicts faced by the two countries should be resolved within these principles.
