Azerbaijan to purchase Israeli-made Iron Dome anti-missile system

Azerbaijan to purchase Israeli-made Iron Dome anti-missile system

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Industry has reached an agreement with Israel’s relevant agency on the purchase of Iron Dome anti-missile system.

This announcement was made by Defense Industry Minister Javer Jamalov on Saturday.

Iron Dome is a mobile all-weather air defense system developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aircraft Industries.

The system is designed to intercept and destroy short-range rockets and artillery shells fired from distances of 4 kilometres to 70 kilometres away and whose trajectory would take them to a populated area.
