Berlin police conduct searches in refugee camp after Christmas market incident
The police special forces conducted searches in a refugee camp in Berlin`s closed Tempelhof airport`s hangar in the framework of the investigation into Monday`s truck ramming incident in the German capital.
According to Die Welt newspaper, the searches were conducted in the refugee camp since the detained truck driver was registered there.

Earlier in the day, reports emerged that the detained driver was a Pakistani citizen, who arrived in the German south-eastern city of Passau on December 31, 2015. The man reportedly was known to police for committing minor crimes. The truck, which rammed into a crowd of people at a Christmas market in Berlin late on Monday, killed at least 12 and injured almost 50 people. The police confirmed that the truck-ramming was intentional.
