Karlov was shot by a gunman at an art gallery exhibition opening in Ankara late on Monday. Doctors announced the envoy`s death 40 minutes after his hospitalization. The Russian Foreign Ministry said it considers the attack a terrorist act.
"A memorial service will be held at the airport today, with the participation of Turkey`s top leadership and representatives of the diplomatic corps. Afterward, the body will be repatriated accompanied by the widow, the embassy`s doctor and an Emergencies Ministry doctor," press attache Irina Kasimova told RIA Novosti.

Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov`s body will be repatriated to Russia on Tuesday, with high-level Turkish officials expected to take part in a memorial service at the Ankara airport, the Russian Embassy said.
