Search continues for oilmen missing in Caspian Sea - Azerbaijan
The search continues for oilmen missing in the Caspian Sea as a result of an accident at the oil-gathering station #3 of the Oil and Gas Production Department of Azneft Production Union, Khoshbakht Yusifzade, first vice-president of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, told reporters on Tuesday.
Several vessels and helicopters are involved in the search, he noted.

“Unfortunately, only the body of one oilman has been found so far. The joint commission, established in connection with the accident, continues its work. Additional information will be provided,” he added.

The accident took place at about 05:00 a.m., on Dec. 15, due to strong wind, which blew away a part of a flyover of a 150-meter long oil-gathering station. A board attached to the flyover and a booth on it were also blown away.

One oilman died, nine others were went missing as a result of the accident.

A joint special commission has been created to investigate the accident.
