Trump tower in NYC evacuated, president-elect in Florida

Trump tower in NYC evacuated, president-elect in Florida

Trump Tower in New York, home to president-elect Donald Trump, was evacuated on Tuesday after a report of a "suspicious package.”

In videos posted to social media, people were seen fleeing the building at the direction of uniformed officers.

Trump is currently in Florida at his Mar-a-Lago estate for the holidays.

Shortly after 5 p.m. local time, the suspicious package was"deemed safe" by the New York Police Department and the evacuation orders were ended. Police confirmed that the package was actually a bag of children`s toys.
