6.3 magnitude earthquake strikes Japan - USGS
A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck Japan, US Geological Survey reported. Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) has put the magnitude at 6.3.
The epicenter of the quake was given as Ibaraki Prefecture in central Japan. The prefecture has a population of some 3 million people.

The depth of the quake was 10km, JMA reported.
