CSTO considers Bordyuzha`s statement groundless
The CSTO calls the Azerbaijani side not to put emphasis on the use of the `Nagorno-Karabakh Republic` expression in the statement by Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolay Bordyuzha on the armed incident on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops, the Press Service of the CSTO told, AzVision.az reports.

`The use of `Nagorno-Karabakh Republic` expression in the CSTO`s statement does not mean the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh as a Republic. It is more reasonable to focus on Bordyuzha`s words expressing his concern over the armed incident happened in the territory of Armenia which is a member of the CSTO on December 29`, the Press Service said.

`The CSTO supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group on peaceful solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The FMs of the CSTO member states released a joint statement regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in October, 2016`, the Press Service added.

Note, a reconnaissance group of the Armenian Armed Forces tried to violate the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border on Dec. 29 morning. The Armenian group found itself in the ambush of the Azerbaijani army while violating the borders.

The enemy was forced to retreat, according to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry`s message.

A soldier of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Gurbanov Chingiz, was killed as a result of the Armenian provocation.
