Azerbaijani energy minister to visit Vietnam
Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Natig Aliyev will head the delegation, which will visit Hanoi on Jan. 16, the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry said in a message Jan. 12.
The delegation will visit the Vietnamese capital to take part in the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam intergovernmental commission on economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation, according to the message.

The commission’s chairman from the Vietnamese side is the country’s Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh.

“The current state of the economic relations between the two countries and prospects of expanding cooperation will be discussed during the commission’s meeting,” said the message. “The spheres of energy, trade, agriculture, transportation, communications and high technologies, education, law, tourism, sports and youth will be considered as main directions of the development of cooperation.”

It is planned to sign a protocol on the results of the meeting, according to the message.

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Vietnam amounted to $73.2 million in January-November 2016, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
