Santa Cruz Islands in Pacific Ocean hit by 5.0-magnitude earthquake
A 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit on Wednesday the Santa Cruz Islands, southeastern part of the Solomon Islands, Sputnik reported.
The tremors were registered at 01:10 GMT some 230 kilometers northwest of the Vanuatu’s town of Sola.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 30 kilometers.

There are no reports about damages and victims.

The Solomon Islands are located in a seismically active zone known as the Ring of Fire and regularly suffer from powerful earthquakes.
