CIA’s Pompeo meets Turkish PM, mulls co-op expansion
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has met with Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency Mike Pompeo, who is on a visit in Turkey.
The sides discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in intelligence, regional issues, as well as fighting terrorism, the Turkish media reported Feb. 10.

Yildirim also informed Pompeo about the movement of Fethullah Gulen, who is accused of being involved in the military coup attempt of July 15, 2016.

Yildirim also reminded Pompeo about Ankara’s demand for Gulen’s extradition from the US.

On Feb. 9, Pompeo arrived in Turkey in his first-ever visit abroad as the CIA head.

Pompeo is also slated to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Hakan Fidan.
