Latvia supports idea of a new EU-Azerbaijan agreement
Latvia supports the idea of a new agreement between Azerbaijan and the European Union, said Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics.
Rinkevics, who is on a visit to Baku, made the remarks at a joint briefing with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.

Latvia believes that the relationship between the parties should be based on strategic cooperation, he said.

“We are preparing for the summit in the framework of the Eastern Partnership. We`re not so sure, but we will try to have the document signed before the summit. We are interested in cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan in the energy and transport sectors,” the Latvian minister added.
