Several injured after train crash near Bettembourg
A passenger train and a freight train collided between Bettembourg and Zoufftgen on Tuesday morning at approximately 8:45am.
According to the latest information provided jointly by the police and CFL, there are four injured.

Two are injured seriously and still trapped on the train but able to communicate.

The incident occurred near the Bettembourg yard and the French border zone of Zoufftgen, where, in 2006, a similar collision occurred, resulting in the death of six people.

With the freight train carriages coming off the line, the route to France will be closed for the foreseeable future. CFL has put on extra buses for passengers.

The cause of the collision is not known at this stage.
