The Defense Ministry said the Armenians first released a piece of information about the monitoring of the Line of Contact near Gazakh’s Mazam village but a bit later refuted the same information.
“The Armenians had initially denied any incident during the monitoring. This information was released in the Armenian media. After the Azerbaijani side reported about the incidents recorded during the monitoring, the Armenians refuted the information they had previously released and claimed that the shot was fired by the Azerbaijani side during the monitoring. This is another proof that Armenia’s military leadership tries every means to mislead their people and the international community, trying to attract international organizations to these issues,” the ministry said.
The Armenian side has made another provocative attempt during the monitoring of the Line of Contact near Gazakh’s Mazam village on January 29. The Armenians failed to lead the field assistants of the personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office who were monitoring the opposite side of the Line of Contact to the right coordinates determined based on an agreement before the monitoring. As a result, the monitoring was delayed. Monitoring was conducted after the solution of certain procedures. Armenian armed units fired on Azerbaijani positions located at some distance from OSCE representatives near the end of the monitoring.
