Mehriban Aliyeva’s appointment as First VP to boost stability in Azerbaijan: Markov
Appointment of Mehriban Aliyeva as First Vice President of Azerbaijan will strengthen the political stability in the country, consolidate power and minimize risks, Sergey Markov, Russian president’s confidant, member of Russian Civic Chamber, told on Feb. 21.
He said this appointment is especially relevant after the military coup attempt in Turkey.

“No changes will occur in Azerbaijan’s domestic policy,” Markov added. “Mehriban Aliyeva has always played an active role in the country’s public and political life.”

On Feb. 21, upon Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s order, Mehriban Aliyeva was appointed the First Vice President of Azerbaijan.
