SGC’s timely completion depends on relations among partner countries - minister
Energy Minister Natig Aliyev has today received the delegation led by Bulgarian Energy Minister Nikolay Pavlov, who is on a visit to Baku to attend the third meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Board.
According to the ministry, the factors which makes next meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Board essential, current situation of the project and perspectives were discussed at the meeting attended by officials of “Bulgarian Energy Holding”, “Bulgargaz”, “IGB” and the Ministry of Energy.

According to the minister Aliyev, timely completion of the Southern Gas Corridor depends on relations among the partner countries, saying that the ministerial meeting within the Advisory Board serves this goal: “Bulgaria has an important position in this project and IGB will contribute to transportation of Azerbaijani gas to the wider geography”.

Bulgarian Energy Minister Nikolay Pavlov gave information about the IGB’s current situation and financial issues.

It was noted that 1 bilion cubic metres of gas will be delivered to Bulgaria by IGB in 2020. Moreover, construction of Bulgaria-Serbia Gas Grid Interconnector will commence by May 2019 and be completed by the end of 2020.

They also exchanged views on Balkan gas storehouse, Azerbaijan’s participation in Bulgaria’s oil products market.
