Berlin airports to be hit by strikes on Friday
Flights in and out of Berlin’s airports Tegel and Schonefeld are likely to face delays and flight cancelations as ground staff go on strike in a dispute over pay, Deutsche Welle reports.
Trade union Verdi announced walkouts at the capital’s airports from 4am on Friday to 5am on Saturday local time. Verdi is pushing for an hourly pay increase and better working hours for its members, arguing that their workload is increasing. The union also wants more opportunities for professional advancement for ground staff.
