Azerbaijan – biggest foreign investor of Georgia
In 2016 $1.645 billion was invested in Georgia’s economy, up 22% from previous year, the National Statistics Office of Georgia reported.
Of this, 3% and $1.119 billion are reinvestments.

Azerbaijan invested $1.069 billion in Georgia in the reporting period, which makes up 35% of total investments. The second places are held by Turkey (%17) and Great Britain (7%).

Regarding direct investments, $645 million was invested in transport and communication sector that makes up 39% of total direct foreign investments. $203 million was invested in energy and $163 million in construction sector.
