Kuznetsov said the petition is addressed to the deputies of Russian State Duma and Federation Council. “The genocide committed in Khojaly by Armenian separatists is an act of terrorism and crime against humanity. The adoption of the petition is not within my competence. However, I think that it was necessary to raise this petition. Raising the petition about such a barbaric crime committed at the end of the twentieth century is important. The crimes committed in Khojaly are today committed in Syria and Iraq. Thus, crimes against humanity couldn’t be prevented unless the first cause is eliminated, the Khojaly genocide is recognized. Therefore, I urge not only Azerbaijanis, but all the humanity to support this petition. People supporting elimination of terrorism must support this petition,” he added.
