Azerbaijani president: Nagorno-Karabakh will never be independent
Nagorno-Karabakh will never be granted independence, said Azerbaijan’s President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
The president made the remarks at a meeting with a group of servicemen on the anniversary of the April victory of the Azerbaijani army.

No country recognizes the illegal regime in Nagorno-Karabakh, said President Aliyev, noting that the illegal “referendum” recently conducted there showed it once again.

Neighboring countries, international organizations, and Minsk Group co-chairs unequivocally stated that they do not recognize the “referendum” in Nagorno-Karabakh, added the president.

“What it means is, Armenia and its leadership put themselves in a ridiculous situation again. Every time they hold an illegal referendum, it works for us, because not every time international organizations and foreign countries recognize it,” he said.

President Aliyev expressed confidence that Azerbaijan will surely restore its territorial integrity.

“Nagorno-Karabakh has always been and will be an integral part of Azerbaijan,” he added.
