Reforms to give impetus to development of Azerbaijani non-oil sector
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev touched upon the issues which are important for the development of the country’s economy and outlined the forthcoming tasks at a recent republican conference of non-oil exporters in the country’s Yevlakh district, Azerbaijani MP Tahir Rzayev told on Apr. 18.
Rzayev added that President Aliyev attaches great importance to the sustainable development of the country’s non-oil sector, tries to completely eliminate the dependence of the country's economy on the oil sector and increase production of export products.

"Much work was carried out in Azerbaijan over the past period,” he said. “Important measures were taken to develop agriculture, tourism due to the policy pursued by President Aliyev. As President Aliyev said, Azerbaijan must increase its export potential."

The MP said that the necessary infrastructure is being created in Azerbaijan to increase the export potential and produce competitive products.

Rzayev also added that there is a favorable investment sphere in Azerbaijan today and all necessary conditions have been created for entrepreneurs.

"More than $200 billion have been recently invested in the country's economy,” he added. “I believe that the radical reforms carried out under the leadership of President Aliyev and the comprehensive state support for entrepreneurship development will give a big impetus to the development of the country’s non-oil sector."
