"I think that even on such complicated topic, Russia’s voice is heeded. Gradually, maybe even too late, but positions are being adjusted and there is understanding that it’s not all that simple, that things cannot be put as straight as that Kiev is fighting for democracy in Ukraine whilst some hostile forces are seeking to stop democracy. There is understanding that the situation is by far that straight and that it is impossible to begin political settlement Russia has been advocating all this time without comprehending what is going on in Ukraine, its numerous problems, without giving an unbiased assessment of the Kiev authorities’ actions," he said.
"We continue to maintain contacts with the American delegations and with other five permanent members of the Security Council on other matters," he added.
He stressed that the unconditional priority is to put an end to the civil war in Ukraine.
