Hope France’s efforts to contribute to fair settlement of Karabakh conflict - President Aliyev
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev said he hopes France’s hopes will contribute to a fair settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“I attach special importance to France’s efforts and hope that they will finally contribute to a fair settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” President Aliyev told France’s President-elect Emmanuel Macron in his congratulatory letter.

The Azerbaijani president pointed in his letter to the four resolutions of the UN Security Council, as well as decisions and resolutions of the UN General Assembly, OSCE, NATO, European Parliament, PACE, Non-Aligned Movement, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international organizations regarding the conflict.

“Armenia ignores all of the resolutions and decisions on the conflict. France, like the other OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, considers the status quo unacceptable. Azerbaijan’s position is that the conflict must be resolved only in accordance with the norms of international law within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan,” President Aliyev noted.
