Unfortunately, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Latvia decreased by 28.93 percent in 2016 as compared to 2015, noted Maklakovs, adding that however, the volume of services rose, which indicates the availability of capacity in this area.
The ambassador added that intensive negotiations are underway on holding the Latvia-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission’s meeting, which is planned to be held soon.
According to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee, trade turnover between Latvia and Azerbaijan amounted to more than $350,000 in the 1Q17.
