Head of the state noted that US support to global projects implemented by Azerbaijan attaches great importance. Stressing good history of our cooperation, the president noted that the US government has always supported BTC and others, including the Southern Gas Corridor and US President’s letter once more shows that the US new administration is loyal to this project: “We highly appreciate it. I think the thoughts in the letter once more prove support to Azerbaijan and friendship relations”.
The president said that this is very important during implementation of the SGC, as well as energy projects in Azerbaijan and Robin Dunnigan’s visit to Azerbaijan will create opportunity for discussion of energy and other fields: “Azerbaijan opens a new page in development of oil and gas industry, all necessary structure, pipelines, professional staff are ready. So, there is no any obstacle and this is very good that we continue cooperation with US new administration in energy and other fields, as Donald Trump said in his letter”.
Thanking for kind words, US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Diplomacy in the Department of State's Bureau of Energy Resources Robin Dunnigan said: “We thank you for both cooperation in energy field and personal support to strengthening of Azerbaijan’s energy security in the region. You said that US president’s letter demonstrates continuation of the new US administration’s support. You are right. The thoughts in this and Rex Tillerson’s letter addressed to the third ministerial meeting of the SGC Advisory Council, as well as my participation in this exhibition show that we don’t cooperate only in energy field, but we are loyal to continuation of our cooperation in SGC realization and others”.
They also exchanged opinions about different fields of bilateral relations at the meeting.
