Agenda of PACE special hearing in Baku announced
Azerbaijan’s record on combating discrimination in the workplace and the efficiency of public employment services will come under the spotlight at a special hearing in Baku on 2 June 2017, organised by PACE’s Social Affairs Committee and the Milli Mejlis, said a message posted on the organization's website.
Parliamentarians from the country dealing with these issues, as well as employers’ and trades union representatives, will review Azerbaijani law and practice – in the light of expert opinions from the European Committee of Social Rights – to see what could change to bring it into line with the Council of Europe’s benchmark standards.

Moreover, parliamentarians from other countries will contribute examples of good practice during the discussion with the host country representatives.

This event was preceded by a regional seminar, organised by PACE’s Social Affairs Committee, which took place in 2015 in Moldova, involving Eastern Partnership countries.
