Azerbaijan has always stood by Turkey in fight against FETO - Ambassador

Azerbaijan has always stood by Turkey in the fight against terrorist Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), which is the mastermind behind the coup attempt that took place in Turkey on July 15, 2016, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral said on Wednesday.

“As you know, FETO-linked networks also operate outside of Turkey. There is a decent fight against this terrorist organization outside of the country. Azerbaijan has always stood by Turkey in the fight against FETO,” the ambassador said addressing a press conference on the 1st anniversary of the failed July 15 coup attempt in Turkey, AzVision.az reported.

He noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev phoned Turkish President Erdogan on the night of the attempted coup – 15 July 2016.

“Turkey’s strength is Azerbaijan’s strength and Azerbaijan’s strength is Turkey’s strength. Seeing Azerbaijan side by side in the fight against terrorism, we feel great strength,” the diplomat added.
