Armenian was obliged to return back to negotiations – Azerbaijani president
There are significant developments in Azerbaijan’s position in Armenia-Azerbaijan, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the first half of the year, Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev told at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of social-economic developments in the first half of 2017 and future tasks, AzVision.az reports.
“The world unity and international institutions have not recognized the so-called referendum held by the separatist regime of the Nagorno-Karabakh in the beginning of the year. In this regard, international organizations have one more time declared that they recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh as a part of Azerbaijan.

In addition, the conditions, which were stipulated by the Armenian side in April 2016 to bring the sides back to the negotiations, remain inconclusive. Yesterday Azerbaijani and Armenian FMs met. The negotiations were restored without accepting any conditions stipulated by the Azerbaijani side. Thus, aggressor country was obliged to return back to the negotiations", Ilham Aliyev added.

The Azerbaijani president stressed that Armenia resorts to provocations every time when pressure is growing in connection with the settlement of the conflict.

“The confirmation of this is the terrorist act committed in the Armenian parliament several years ago, the escalation of tensions on the frontline that took place after the talks in Paris in 2014, as well as the appropriate response of the Azerbaijani army to the provocation committed on the contact line of troops in April 2016,” he added.
