UNESCO chief hails Azerbaijan Museum of Miniature Books` publication of “Goodwill Ambassadors” book
UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova has hailed the publication of "Goodwill Ambassadors" miniature book by the Museum of Miniature Books in Azerbaijan. In a letter sent to Zarifa Salahova, the founder and director of the museum, Bokova said: "I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you for your exceptional initiative to publish the miniature books on UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors.” “I take the opportunity also to thank you very much too for offering me an example of this unique publication during my last visit to Baku to attend the 4th Baku Forum on Intercultural Dialogue."
"Our Organization remains grateful to its Honorary and Goodwil, Ambassadors, who continue to contribute to the objectives and aims of our Organization in its fields of competence. Their commitment to dialogue and mutual understanding is instrumental in spreading UNESCO's messages across the world, thereby contributing to building peace and sustainable development. Allow me to renew my heartfelt thanks to you for promoting, through your truly exceptional miniature books, this important work that is undertaken by the UNESCO Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors," Bokova said in her letter.

Commenting on UNESCO Director General`s letter, Salahova said: "I presented "Goodwill Ambassadors" miniature book to UNESCO Director General at a meeting held on the sidelines of the 4th Baku Forum on Intercultural Dialogue and said that the book highlights the activities of Goodwill Ambassadors. The book features valuable information about 68 Goodwill Ambassadors, including Mehriban Aliyeva, the most active UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, First Vice-President of Azerbaijan. Ms. Bokova liked our miniature book very much."

Salahova noted that the idea to publish the book was initially supported by head of the Secretariat of the Azerbaijani President, Assistant to the President Dilara Seyidzade.

The book with UNESCO logo on its front cover consists of 376 pages. The publication includes 68 portraits and 52 color photos of World Heritage Monuments.
