Russian ambassador to Sudan found dead in swimming pool
Russia's ambassador to Sudan was found dead in the swimming pool at his home in the capital city of Khartoum on Wednesday, police said, NY DailyNews reports.
Mirgayas Shirinskiy, who had high blood pressure, is believed to have died from natural causes, a spokesman for the police told Reuters.

Shirinskiy served as the Russian ambassador to Rwanda before he was appointed to his last post in 2013.

He also held diplomatic positions at Russian embassies in Yemen, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, CNN reported.

Sudan's foreign ministry expressed its condolences to Russia in a statement, hailing Shirinskiy's diplomatic efforts.

Shirinskiy is the fourth Russian ambassador to die this year.

After the Ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, died in New York in February, the city Medican Examiner said it would not be releasing his cause of death.

Alexander Kadakin, 68, the Russian Ambassador to India died in New Delhi in late January after what was described as a short illness.

Andrei Malanin, a senior diplomat in Greece, was found dead on his bedroom floor in January. Police said there were no visible injuries and his home, which was located on a heavily guarded street, did not appear to have been broken into.
