Prokhanov :”Moscow-Baku Axis” is undesirable for West” (EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW)
The 'Moscow-Baku Axis: Towards a New Caucasus Geopolitics' conference commenced in Moscow. The main aim of the conference is to discuss the current state of Russian-Azerbaijani relations and prospects for their development.
Prominent Russian political scientist Alexander Prokhanov gave an exclusive interview to AzVision.az during the conference.

AZVision.az presents the interview:

- How do you think, which geopolitical realities and necessities dictate the establishment of Russia-Azerbaijan axis?

- I would like to add Berlin and Tokyo axes to this axis as well. Currently, it will be possible to put pressure on the destroyed regulatory within these axes. I guess the existence of Moscow-Baku axis has never been deteriorated. We have always been a part of a great cultural, geopolitical and military area. That’s why this axis has always been in existence. Now the main target is to clean up the moss. Let this axis shine as an absolute necessity in a new historical reality.

- Which actual and hypothetic factors or actors can threaten the establishment of this axis?

- It can be an intervention from West and the USA to Azerbaijan and Russia. The reason is that the establishment of this axis is undesirable for West. West is against the union, it is in favor of the division. Armenia is afraid of the existence of recultivation in a great Eurasian region where previously the former Soviet Union existed. In this regard, every single synthesis and symphony regarding this union can spark an angry reaction in the West and there are efforts available to prevent this.

- Who has a higher chance to struggle for Eurasian and Euro- Atlantic bloc in Southern Caucasus?

- I guess, Russia has a higher chance.
