Mogherini: no need to review Iranian nuclear deal
The ministerial meeting of the Six (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) and Iran that took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said at the meeting that there is no need to revise the Iranian nuclear deal.

"There is no need to renegotiate parts of the agreement because the agreement is concerning a nuclear program and as such is delivering," she told reporters. Commenting on the discussion, she noted that the meeting was honest and frank.

"We have all agreed that all sides are implementing so far the agreement," she said, adding that the agreement had been eight times confirmed by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency).

Mogherini said that the possibility of the US withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program was not discussed at the meeting of the Six mediators (Russia, the UK, China, the US, France and Germany) and Iran on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Commenting on the possible withdrawal of the US from the deal, Mogherini stressed that these agreements were not signed with one country. "This deal belongs to the international community," TASS cited her as saying.
