Ukraine should liberalize its laws to attract Azerbaijani capital, says ambassador
Ukraine should liberalize its laws to increase the involvement of Azerbaijani companies’ investment in the country, said Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Ukraine Azer Khudiyev.
Azerbaijan, in turn, is interested in establishing joint ventures with Ukraine, the ambassador said addressing an international economic forum in Kharkiv, Ukraine, the Azerbaijani Embassy told.

The forum brought together ambassadors of nearly 20 countries to Ukraine and representatives of international financial organizations.

The ambassador emphasized that a healthy investment environment was created in Azerbaijan. “Our country is interested in attracting foreign investors, and international standards are applied for their activities.”

Khudiyev went on to say that the occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory by Armenian armed forces affects the country’s investment climate.

“As separatism has a negative impact on economic development, international financial institutions should apply economic sanctions against Armenia, which pursues the policy of occupation,” he said.
