US allocates $30 million for mine clearance in Azerbaijan

The United States has supported the Jayranchel project since its beginning, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta said on Tuesday in the event named “Presentation of JCP Phase III, The Future of ANAMA-NATO Trust Fund projects in Azerbaijan” in Baku, AzVision.az reports.
“We see how unexploded ordnances affect innocent people. So far, $30 million was allocated to contribute the mine clearance. A polluted area of more than 40 sq. km has been cleared. ANAMA’s contributions go beyond the country”, Cekuta said.
