Leader of Mountain Jews community of Azerbaijan resigns
On February 26, at the synagogue Red Sloboda, a unique village in the north of Azerbaijan, populated by Mountain Jews, held a meeting of members of the community in which Boris Simanduev, head of the Jewish community of Sloboda for 21 years, addressed the audience with a request of resignation from his post due to old age, Gorskie.ru website.

The new chairman of the religious community of Red (Jewish) Sloboda was elected Yura Naftaliev - a resident of the village was born in 1960. The new leader of the community graduated medical school in Simferopol and all his life he lives and works as a pharmacist in his native village.

Recall that in 2013, Boris I. celebrated its 80th anniversary and the decision of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his "fruitful activity in the development of friendly relations between the peoples of the Republic of Azerbaijan" was awarded "Shohrat" ("Glory").
