Car mounts pavement near London's Museum leaving several people injured - VIDEO
A car mounted a pavement outside London's National History Museum leaving several people injured. Armed police have already been seen at the site of the incident.
London police said that they are aware of an incident near the National History Museum, where a car mounted a pavement leaving several people injured.

The suspected person behind the incident has been arrested, according to police. Law enforcement has described the incident in in the South Kensington area as a car collision, however, said that the motive for it is being probed.

"We are aware of an incident in Exhibition Road. A number of people have been injured. A man has been detained by police," police said on Twitter.



The incident took place at 2:20 p.m. (13:20 GMT) and caused mass panic. Following the ramming, the Natural History Museum as well as South Kensington and Sloane Square tube stations were evacuated, the Evening Standard newspaper reported.

According to Sky News, the incident isn't believed to be related to terrorism. UK Prime Minister Theresa May was reportedly informed about the incident and was following the situation.



Meanwhile, the museum said on Twitter that a "serious incident" took place.



The Ambulance Service is responding to the incident.
