2017 will be remembered as a year of serious economic reforms in Azerbaijan - Aliyev
This year will be remembered as a year of serious economic reforms in the history of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to results of socio-economic development in nine months of 2017 and objectives for the future.
According to the report of Davos World Economic Forum, which reflects the competitiveness among 140 countries, Azerbaijan has risen from the 37th to 35th place and retained its leadership in CIS zone, President Aliyev said.

The head of state noted that in the first nine months of this year serious steps have been taken in Azerbaijan for economic reforms, entrepreneurs have been provided with all conditions, the development of strategic road map has been provided, and the mechanism of investment promotion has been put into operation.

“To date, more than 200 investment incentive certificates have been issued, which resulted in AZN 1.7 billion being invested by the private sector in Azerbaijan. At the same time, the mechanism of export promotion has been launched in the country,” President Aliyev added.
