"First Data Corporation (NYSE: FDC), a global leader in commerce-enabling technology, today announced the appointment of former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron, as the newest member of the company’s International Advisory Board," the press release said.
According to the statement, Cameron will work on strengthening and expanding First Data’s presence in new and existing markets.
“David Cameron is one of the world’s most well-regarded leaders and we are truly honored to have him join First Data in his capacity on our International Advisory Board,” Frank Bisignano, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First Data, was quoted as saying in the press release.
According to the Guardian newspaper, Cameron will work for First Data firm two or three days per month.
Cameron resigned as UK Prime Minister on June 24, 2016, following a sudden pro-Brexit result of the national referendum on the UK's membership in the European Union.
