He added that 2,271 million foreigners, mainly from Russia, Iran and Arab countries, have visited Azerbaijan this year.
The Azerbaijani deputy minister stressed a 20-percent-growth in the tourism sector.
“As many as 860,000 people rested in Azerbaijani districts in June and August,” he said. “Foreign citizens spent 1.3 billion manats in Azerbaijan since early 2017. The number of tour companies in Azerbaijan has reached a fantastic level, that is, 1,441 tourism companies were registered in the country.”
Samadov also called for tourists to sign treaties with travel companies when purchasing tour packages.
