Azerbaijan’s Open United Gymnastics Championship has been organized well, Philippe Silacci, venue media manager for Baku 2015 European Games Operation Committee (BEGOC) told Trend on March 4.

“In the arena we are at home,” he said. “Everything is thought, made for gymnastics.”

Silacci added that the working conditions for the media and training conditions are optimal.

He said Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation has a great experience in organization of world championships, world coup final, European championships.

In addition, Farid Gayibov, the secretary general of the Federation is also the vice president of the European Gymnastics Union, so his experience is at the international level, according to Silacci.

Azerbaijan’s Open United Gymnastics Championship kicked off in Baku on March 4. This is the test championship on the eve of the First European Games.

Coming from 22 countries, 133 gymnasts will compete for medals both in the all-around and the individual competitions.

Such well-known gymnasts, as two-time absolute world champion Yana Kudryavtseva (Russia, rhythmic gymnastics), Olympic silver medalist Filip Ude (Croatia), European champion Alexander Shatilov (Israel, both – sports gymnastics) and other athletes have arrived in the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku.
