Azerbaijan prepares draft law on membership to WTO
Azerbaijan has prepared a draft law on “Technical regulation” has been prepared for adaptation of legislation to WTO requirements, elimination of technical barriers to trade, increase of export potential of local producers in connection with membership to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ramiz Hasanov, Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent of the Republic of Azerbaijan said in his interview to the website of New Azerbaijan Party.
According to him, requirements of the WTO Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Agreement on technical regulation and conformity assessment have been taken into account while preparing the draft law.

The chairman noted that the draft law was improved with the participation of international experts within the Twinning project of the EU. Hasanov underlined that the draft law has already been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers: “As I mentioned, before, adoption of the draft law will increase opportunities for Azerbaijan-produced goods to have access to international market and EU. At the same time, a new draft law on “Standardization” has been improved with the participation of international experts within the Twinning project and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers
