Hikmet Hajiyev: "Armenia has no political, legal and moral basis to speak about human rights"
"Regarding all the positive issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Armenian leadership followed a negative response", the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev said commenting on the speech of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian at the OSCE Permanent Council.

Hikmet Hajiyev noted that the Foreign Minister of Armenia still does not realize that the fundamental basis of 40-year-old Helsinki Final Act make it the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states and inviolability of internationally recognized State border, as well as the unacceptability of change internationally recognized State border through the use of power: "In Nalbandian’s speech there is no any opinion about conflict resolution and peace and stability in the region except unsubstantiated claim”.

“To eliminate the aggression and occupation by Armenia, the fundamental basis of the conflict, Nalbandian first of all, should clarify the question of the withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan”, - the spokesperson of the Ministry said.

“I would like to remind Nalbandian, who violated diplomatic ethics distorted statements made by the OSCE Minsk Group, the main appeal the OSCE Minsk Group, announced at the presidential level, this is unacceptable status quo. The basis of the current status quo is occupation and aggression by Armenia”, he said.

Hikmet Hajiyev noted that after the Paris meeting Armenia and Azerbaijan had been called on to start work on the development of a comprehensive peace agreement: "OSCE Minsk Group after the Munich meeting with Nalbandian in February called for an immediate start to work on the preparation of a comprehensive peace agreement. After the last visit, the OSCE Minsk Group to the region, Azerbaijan has once again expressed its willingness to meetings at all levels, beginning at the level of structural and working groups in the development of the peace agreement. With respect to all the positive issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Armenian leadership followed a negative response. Maybe Armenian Foreign Minister should be bold and say it? Not by chance in his speech and no reminders of the peace agreement. Why Nalbandian showing such a "respectful" attitude to the co-chairs statements, ignores calls of the same MG release of our compatriots Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev taken hostage Armenian soldiers?".

Hajiyev noted that Armenia has no political, legal and moral basis to speak about human rights: "Foreign Minister of Armenia should be better answer addressed to him at the meeting the issue of the shooting of demonstrators in 2008 and submit a report to the Government of Armenia on the investigation of the crime. Another indicator of anti-humanist policy of Armenia is to abandon the exchange of information on missing persons. This proposal of the OSCE Minsk was immediately supported by the Azerbaijani side. Armenian Foreign Minister at the meeting should be to clarify the fate of more than 4,000 Azerbaijanis, who were held in concentration camps, were massively killed and buried en masse.”
