‘Infiltrators’ not to be allowed to sabotage Iranian people’s rights, says Zarif
Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said “infiltrators” would not be allowed to sabotage Iranian people’s rights through violence and destruction amid protests against high prices in the country, Azvision.az reports citing Tasnim news agency.
“Iran's security and stability depend on its own people, who — unlike the peoples of Trumps regional "bffs”—have the right to vote and to protest. These hard-earned rights will be protected, and infiltrators will not be allowed to sabotage them through violence and destruction,” Zarif said in a message posted on his official Twitter account on Tuesday night.

His remarks came in response to US President Donald Trump’s recent insulating remarks against the Iranian nation.

As some cities in Iran have recently been scenes of civil protests against price hikes, the US president has sided with the opportunists and rioters who were trying to damage public property in the gatherings.

“Iran is failing at every level despite the terrible deal made with them by the Obama Administration,” Trump said on his Twitter account on Monday.

“They (Iranian people) are hungry for food & for freedom. Along with human rights, the wealth of Iran is being looted. TIME FOR CHANGE!” he added in his tweet.

This is while according to Article 27 of the Iranian Constitution, “public gatherings and marches are allowed so long as the participants do not carry arms and are not in violation of the fundamental principles of Islam.”

Iranian officials maintain that peaceful protests are the right of every citizen as long as rallies comply with the legal conditions.
