On 2 February it was reported about detention of the chief architect of Makhachkala, Magomed-Rasul Gitinov after questioning. He is suspected of abuse of office when issuing a permit for the construction of high-rise buildings. Source “Tape.ru” in law enforcement bodies has not excluded that in the near future Gitinov will face new charges.
On 19 January a criminal case was opened against the mayor of Makhachkala, Musa Musayev. According to the SC, the mayor signed a decree on the transfer of ownership of land (market value of more than 81 million) of one of private firms at reduced 72 times the price for 1.1 million rubles. The official pleaded not guilty.
