The blast that took place near the University of Kabul today amid celebrations of the Nawruz holiday, marking the start of the Persian new year.
At least 29 people were killed, 52 more were injured in a blast, the Afghan Health Ministry’s spokesman said.
The bomber was trying to reach the capital's Sakhi shrine, where people had gathered to celebrate the Persian new year, Sputnik reported.
Many of the injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment, the Ministry for Public Health said.
