Turkey gears up to reveal truth about 1915 events
Turkey is geared up for revealing the truth about the 1915 events, speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly (parliament) Cemil Cicek said.
He said Turkish authorities have repeatedly expressed readiness to create a commission to find out the truth about the mentioned events, Anadolu agency reported Apr.9.

Cicek added that Ankara will not allow anyone to use 1915 events to exert pressure on Turkey.

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey`s predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place. While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan to take part on April 24 in the festivities in honor of the 100th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Canakkale. Turkish president said that this could lead to the start of the dialogue between the two sides. However, Armenian authorities refused to participate.
