A teacher has become an internet hit – after wearing the same tank top and shirt in school photos for 40 years.
It all started when Dale Irby absent-mindedly sported the brown V-neck jumper and high-collared shirt for two consecutive snaps from 1973.
His wife Cathy dared him to repeat it for a third year and so the joke went on… for four decades, until the full set of pictures finally went viral.
Dale`s hair greyed, his specs and moustache changed slightly – but his tatty tank top and 70s-style disco shirt remained the same.
PE tutor Dale, 63, newly retired from Prestonwood elementary in Dallas, Texas, said: “It really wasn`t stylish and I doubt I`ll ever wear the tank-top or shirt again, but they certainly got a few laughs.”
